The first mention of the word or idea "work" in the B ible
I want to start a new series about the dignity of work. The idea is that these notes could be used to do a five minute devotion each day with young people we are training,.
They could be your children or maybe those in our ministry. This is being written especially with the mission field in mind.
When we work we follow the example our Father set for us Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
The first mention of work is God working.
Without His work in creating and making we would not be here
The Bible starts with God working
All of His creation should follow His example
God worked six days and then rested the seventh
Follow His example-work and rest correctly
Take that day off to reflect on God and all He has done
Take work as your chance to be creative and accomplish something with your life
If work were a bad thing then God would not have been working
God doesn’t sin or participate in sin
God worked so if I want to be like Him I will work too
No excuse being lazy.
Work is not negative but positive.
He created everything
He made us and the entire world
When He finished He saw that it was very good
Feel wonderfully spiritual when you work because you are following your Father's Example
We learn by imitating, so imitate your Father
Much of our problem is that we have been imitating others who do not imitate our Father
Realize you were created by a Worker to work
"Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing."
