Men die in many ways and there are many famous quotes to accompany the cause for each death. I love the Toby Keith song with the video of Clint Eastwood, “Don’t Let the Old Man In.” I believe that is much of the answer to this dilemma. None of us want to die from the neck up.

My parents both suffered from dementia. It was terrible to see a healthy body living when the mind was gone. It was hard on the family and it had to be hard on them too. So think with me over the following quotes.

We are all going to die but we don’t want to stop living till our body does. Rejection, failure, heartache, and disappointments can slowly kill the spirit if you let them. So don’t let your yesterdays steal your todays.

We must hold fast to our vision of a better tomorrow. For it is our dreams that give us purpose, that fuel our passion for life. And as long as we hold onto them, we can never truly die before it is over.

When Dreams Die

From the Neck Up

An Inch at a Time

When They Can't Get Over the Past

When Regret Conquers Hope

From Self-Doubt

Through the Slow Decay of Passion

When They Surrender to Fear

From the Weight of Expectations

When They Lose Their Sense of Purpose

Through the Shackles of Conformity

When They Forget to Live

From the Death of Curiosity

Through the Absence of Connection

When They Refuse to Adapt

From the Suffocation of Routine

When They Let Pride Stand in the Way

From the Burden of Unfulfilled Potential

Through the Decay of Creativity

When They Become Prisoners of Their Comfort Zone

From the Weight of Unspoken Words

When They Forget to Listen to Their Hearts

Through the Loss of Compassion

When They Stop Believing in Themselves

From the Decay of Resilience

"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop." Confucius

Let’s decide today that we are not going to die like this. Let’s get up and get at it. Keep dreaming. Keep looking forward. Know that you are more than a conquerer though Jesus Christ, if you are born again.
