Cancer can cause you to think of death. Being a Christian can cause you to think of the resurrection. I was meditating today. Jesus died for us, but He rose again. He promised us that we would live eternally with Him after death.

Think with me about the resurrection.

Through His death, burial, and resurrection, we have eternal life.

  1. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ offer the promise of eternal life to those who believe in Him.

  2. The resurrection of Jesus serves as a powerful symbol of hope for Christians, as it represents the victory over death and the promise of life everlasting.

  3. The doctrine of eternal life through Jesus Christ is a source of strength and encouragement for believers facing death.

We will live after death.

  1. The promise of life after death instills a sense of peace and security in believers, knowing that their ultimate destiny is with God in the afterlife.

  2. When the resurrection occurs, we will reunite with bodies that are perfected, immortal, and suited for eternal life.

  3. Those who accepted Christ go to heaven to dwell eternally with God in light, joy, and truth.

Jesus will bring us with him when he comes to earth again.

  1. Sleep is not dead. Our bodies are in the grave, but we are in Heaven with Him.

  2. Jesus died and rose again, so we know He has the power to do what He promised to raise us from the dead.

  3. He brings us with Him because we are with Him. What a promise.

We walk in the newness of life.

  1. The resurrection gives hope not only for the future but also for today. I can live a new life.

  2. We lay to rest our past and emerge as a new creature. You have a new life in Jesus.

  3. This is all for the glory of God, who does it all.

We have a living hope.

  1. The “living hope” is a vibrant, life-giving reality for believers because of Jesus’ resurrection power at work in us.

  2. It is a hope that is alive and active, not dead. It comes from being born again spiritually through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

  3. Living hope instills believers with a sense of purpose and vitality, as it is not just passive hope but also one that motivates and inspires them to live with faith and perseverance.
