“Charity beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things” 1 Corinthians 13:7

The Holy Spirit gives Paul an understanding of love unlike what most of us know in our daily lives. This love is strong. It can carry heavy things without breaking.
This love stands firm through betrayal, disappointment, and misunderstanding. It never gives up, no matter how hard life becomes.
The word beareth comes from a word meaning ‘roof’ or ‘covering.’ It means to withstand pressure.
A roof or covering protects from harm and keeps what is inside safe. This is like what it says in
“Love covers a multitude of sins.”I Peter 4:8.
Love bearing all things means covering others in their weakness. It doesn’t expose sin unnecessarily. It protects the dignity of others even in failure.
Love bears or carries the weight of another without dropping it. This is what Jesus, the Good Shepherd, does for us. When we were unfaithful, He stayed. He waited while we wandered. When we sinned, He bore it on the cross. That is active grace.
We don’t love from effort but from a person. It is His love flowing out of me.
Love carries people, not grudges.
Loving someone means sometimes carrying more than your share. It is patience, not payback. It is seeing past the mess and believing God can still work good out of the situation.
Love shoulders the pain with grace from God. They may have hurt you, but you choose to carry the hurt rather than let it crush your heart.
The only way out is to stop feeding the cycle and start forgiving.
Holding a grudge blocks your ability to love again. Forgiveness is a choice. Stop wishing the offender harm and rehearsing the hurt. Let God handle justice. You will have a free heart.
Forgiveness says, “It hurt, but it is done.” Forgiveness gives the pain to God, releases the poison, and stops dragging past hurt into today.
Love can’t hold onto a grudge.
“Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32
Love listens even when it would rather stop.
To bear all things means you stop reacting and start trying to understand. It means looking past the “filter of hurt” and hearing what someone means, not just their words. When you are angry, your heart can add words that were never said. Love takes a breath and listens again.
Patience is not gritting your teeth; it is allowing Jesus to love through us. He is patient. We have experienced his patience and now allow him to show his patience in us.
“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.” Ephesians 4:2
Love believes there’s more to the story.
“Charity believeth all things.”
Love keeps room for hope.
Love says, “You hurt me, but I trust that God hasn’t finished with you.”
Love believes people can change. God changed us.
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44
Love keeps hoping, even when it hurts.
When someone you love drifts away, pray. Hope is the firm trust that the cross was not the end, and neither is this.
Remember, your Father loves you.
Love endures because God endures.
“Charity endureth all things.”
Enduring love means you keep forgiving, praying, and blessing, not because others deserve it, but because God has been patient with you.
Love is grace working. It shows up in traffic jams, family arguments, and tough workdays. It is a choice you make when life is not going your way.
Grace wears work clothes, laughs easily, forgives quickly, and refuses to keep score. Genuine love doesn’t brag about its sacrifices; it simply keeps showing up. It listens when tired, smiles when it could complain, and serves when no one notices.
You cannot control how others act, but you can choose to respond with grace rather than complain. That is where God does His deepest work, in your response. Complaining about what God is doing is like praising the Devil.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9
Love that bears all things isn’t weak. It’s the strongest love there is because it looks like Jesus hanging on a cross, saying,
“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34
That’s the love that changes the world, one quiet choice at a time.
And Love is already living inside you.
