October was a wonderfully blessed month. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Peru

We attended the 25th annual Pastor’s School in Arequipa, Peru. It was tremendous. Over 80 pastors ate lunch with us in a special Pastor’s luncheon. In the evenings, there were 8 or 900 people present.

It was also a great privilege to have Liberty Baptist Church, Iglesia Bautista Libertad, make the trip.

The pastors were very kind to us and shared the history of God’s work in Arequipa and Latin America since our arrival in 1988. It was like watching history come alive.

God gave me the physical strength to teach and preach up to 4 times a day. I doubled my steroids because of the strenuous activity and being at over 8.000 feet above sea level.

Peru Bible College

God works greatly at the Peru Bible College and uses David Gardner to lead this ministry. The financial needs are great, and you could make a difference by supporting this ministry with a one-time offering or monthly. Just click on the link then search for David and Katie Gardner.

Training men and women for the ministry has affected the world, and that is exactly what the Bible College has been doing for many years.

Kenya

Please consider helping Thomas Alute build his home. With a few thousand dollars, we can literally make a difference.

This man has given his life to doing the work in Kenya, and he worked with my friend Randy Stirewalt, who is in heaven.

Marriage Sunday

God blessed me by allowing me to preach about marriage for a friend, especially forgiveness in marriage. I was in Goode, Virginia, at New Hope Baptist Church. I have always considered it a blessing to be with Pastor Don Rice. He is a great encourager.

Health Update

So many of you pray for us, and we are so grateful. I have been doing nothing recently except taking the medicines I need to stay alive. This next month will be important in determining the following steps, so I ask you to pray for us as we decide with our doctors what the next steps are. I have a scan and then a teleconference with my oncologist. I also need blood work to meet with my nephrologist or kidney specialist.

All I know is that the doctors agreed to meet after the Peru trip to discuss treatment. It appears they are leaning heavily towards immunotherapy. I was very miserable the last time I was on this treatment, with extreme diarrhea up to 15 or more times a day. This oncologist says he can control things better than that.

Books and Writing

God has blessed the books that I have written. Pain to Praise is being used in a Bible study group. Fulfilling Marriage in Spanish is being used as a study guide for couples. Thank you for praying for me as I work on writing each day. Several have contacted me with encouraging comments and thanks for the help they received from these books.

God has blessed my daily writings. There are 700 subscribers in 36 US states and 24 countries. Over 350 of the letters are opened in each email.

Thank you for your prayers and support. God bless each of you.

Your unconditional friends,

Austin and Betty
