What do you do with the New Year? Today begins 2025. How do we navigate this new year? How do we find purpose in a time of uncertainty? Psalm 31 offers excellent comfort and spiritual advice for our New Year.

Put your Trust in the Lord, Not Politicians

As you face the New Year, do what David did and put your trust in the Lord God of Heaven, your Heavenly Father. He hears and answers prayer. He knows what awaits you in the coming year.

God is your God. He knows the traps your enemies lay for you. Your struggles and you are in his thoughts. He has excellent goodness prepared for you because He knows you love and trust Him.

Put Yourself into the Lord’s hands.

You have trusted God, so show that faith by placing your life in His hands. Trust that He will work in your life. He is your fortress, your place of security. He is your strength and will protect you.

He knows all your troubles and hurts and desires to help you. God will care for you and deal with those who seek your harm.

God can and will help us so that nothing can discourage us. God controls how long we will live. He may send us through some bad or good times, but we know He will work all things out for our good and His glory. You should be happy to place your future, today, and destiny into our Father’s hands.

Encourage yourself. Keep a strong heart.

If you know you can trust God and place your faith in Him, then encourage yourself in the Lord. We will win in this, too. God always takes care of us. He listens quickly to our prayers. God rescues us even from our mess-ups. He protects us. Your Father will rescue you even from traps laid for you.

You can live a happy and blessed year because God thinks of you. God has given you and will provide you with more great opportunities. He will have mercy on you. Your relationship with God, your Father, matters more than what people think. Trust Him.

God will show you great kindness. Put your hope in the Lord.
