What trust might feel like

Do you long for peace and an inner calm even when you face challenging, uncertain times?

When the news of a cancer diagnosis or the death of a loved one hits us, we hurt beyond what words can describe or those more fortunate can understand. Learning to trust God can provide a deep sense of security and confidence in His working in our lives.

When you trust God, you never lose your optimism and expectancy because you know God is in control and will work all things for our good. Trust means you can give your fears, worries, and control issues to the Lord and let God step in and work.

Trust gives us a sense of boldness and security. We are free from anxiety and stress because we cast our burdens on the Lord. We live in gratitude, appreciating God's presence and direction in our lives.

There is something comforting when you know God is at work. Someone knows what you are going through, what you need, how to help, and the power to do everything. Somewhere in the middle of that, you realize God has a plan for your life. You recognize God created you for His purposes, not your own. The center of the universe is not you but God and His glory. You realize God created you for His pleasure.

Trust allows you to feel intimacy and a deeper relationship with God. Freedom and the clouds finally roll away as you relax and place your trust in the hands of your loving heavenly Father.

What it means to trust

Realizing that God is in control and you can release your grip and control and quit trying to manage everything. Trust means clinging to God, His character, and His promises. You might not see or feel the answer, but you trust God, who saved you and transformed your life to continue working it all out for your good and His glory.

Pouring out your heart to God in prayer being honest about your feelings, your concerns, but trusting Him with them.

Trust means saying no to our doubts and fears and yes to Biblical trust. Trust means recognizing that God's love for you remains constant even when you feel scared, angry, frustrated, hurt, and impatient with Him, and also bringing your thoughts into captivity.

When you see God's character, you know a love beyond human consideration. You realize He hurts for you and is with you in the middle of it all because He is a high priest who feels for or sympathizes with us in all our hurts and problems.

Trust means we see beyond our circumstances to God's bigger plan and into eternity. There are unseen realities that we wait to understand.

Trust means giving up control and surrendering our plans and desires. Trust means seeing and knowing that God has our best interest at heart.

Trust is security and safety in the presence of a person you know is always there for you. You can be vulnerable because he will use nothing to hurt you or against you. You can lie down and sleep fearlessly in his presence.

Trust is believing that he is wiser than you are. Trust is seeing the bigger picture and knowing God can bring good out of even our most difficult situations.

Trust means finding our identity and worth in Him, not in worldly measures.

Trusting God requires letting go of bitterness and choosing forgiveness.

Trusting God means seeking His kingdom first, above all earthly pursuits.

Trusting God involves finding joy in Him, even in tough seasons.

It involves believing that we make God's power perfect in our weakness.

Trusting God requires choosing gratitude, even in challenging circumstances.

Trusting God means finding our satisfaction in Him alone.

Trusting God involves surrendering our timeline to His perfect timing.

Trusting God involves surrendering our reputation and letting Him vindicate us.

It consists in believing that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in us.

Truths you can rest on

Born again people serve a God who never changes. He will not leave you or forsake you. Knowing that He loved me in the sunshine brings light in the darkest moments because my circumstances might have changed, but my Father has not.

Healing is ours no matter what has happened in our past because we trust a trustworthy God. Lean not on your own understanding or what others lean on but on God's goodness and faithfulness. You can trust Him.

Trust means knowing that God has it all under control. He is good to us even in the worst of times. We know our Father has a bigger picture in mind than the moment of my temporary pain. He will work this out for His glory and my good.

Your trust will not rest on your ability to trust or the constant repeating to yourself that you trust, but in that, you find the very promises of God in the Scriptures and cling to them. Truth is our anchor. God is truth. His Word is the truth.

Trust means casting all our cares, fears, worries, and concerns on Him and trusting that He will work.

We understand we were created for eternity. This world is not our home. We are just passing through. We have laid our treasures up somewhere beyond the blue.
